These fire trims are not designed as a replacement for domestic gas fires. They are generally used to finish off the inside brickwork of your chimney opening, typically used in solid fuel fires. Standard opening sizes are 16 inch and 18 inch. This fire trim is also available in a made to measure size, please contact our friendly sales team for an accurate quote.
If you need to fix this trim to the wall our 'heat mate sealant' is perfect for doing this and can be purchased separately below.
Note that polished and brass finishes can tarnish when used with solid fuel fires, a black finish is recommended for solid fuel use.

can it be held in pace using magnets as our current brass trim is held in place?

Yes the trims are magnetic, they are not magnets but are magnetic

Does this trim sit flush with the wall flat , or is it a 'L" section that also sits inside the opening. its hard to tell from the photos.

This trim will sit flat against the wall or fireplace but does have a 2" inside return which goes inside the opening

The frame is made from mild steel, a piece of thick sheet metal is then folded over the top of this depending on what finish is chosen, for example sheet brass would be folded over for a brass finish. They will withstand temperatures of stoves, no room is needed for expansion.

DELIVERY COSTS What we charge for delivery is what it costs us for the delivery of the orders to you. We operate a 1 delivery charge policy so you will only ever pay 1 delivery charge (The largest delivery charge will be used). If the item is not what you wanted or doesn’t quite fit you can return it back to us for a full refund, the buyer must pay for and arrange for return delivery. All we ask is that you put your full name and address on a note in the box with a brief explanation to let us know why you are returning the item. If we supply you with a damaged/faulty item, the item is not as described, or if it has been miss-sold we will pay for the return delivery and issue a full refund. If goods are returned to us and are damaged it is your responsibility to claim the cost back from the courier.
