Wood Burning Stoves - Freestanding
A wood burning stove can make a big impact to a living area whether you're seeking significant heating potential or simply want a stunning focal point for your room. Freestanding stoves are typically installed in fireplace chambers or inglenook style fireplaces or freestanding in any open space with a flue.
We have a wide range of freestanding woodburning stoves available in a range of styles and materials such as cast iron or steel. Originally all heating stoves such as the Stovax Huntington range were made from cast iron. Today in spite of commercial steel production expanding from the late 19th century onwards, cast iron still remains the material of choice for many quality stoves. This is because of the way cast iron diffuses warmth giving maximum radiant heat over a period of time.
When choosing a wood burning stove we would recommend that you choose one with the latest clean burn combustion systems. The clean burn system allows you to burn logs with a higher efficiency, resulting in more heat delivery into the room and less going up the chimney. This is achieved by introducing a pre-heated , secondary air into the firebox to burn the excess hydrocarbons in the smoke. Airwash air flow systems help keep the window clean, allowing you to enjoy the full visual effect of the flames.
